Stephen Jenks

I am a (mostly) retired management and organizational consultant. My wife Carolyn and I joined the Unitarian church in Cleveland, Ohio in 1962 and joined First Parish in Portland when we moved here in 1991 from New Hampshire, where we hadn’t been attending church for 24 years! As one who believes in contributing to organizations I care about, I have served as Clerk and as President of the Governing Board during the 1990s, and as a Trustee since 1996. Carolyn and I have two grown and married daughters, and two delightful grandchildren.

My goal for First Parish is for this wonderful church to grow and thrive, and to be careful stewards of our beautiful historic building. We are blessed to have an endowment that, in large part, pays for building repairs and enhancements, and I am particularly pleased to be a part of that important work. First Parish is truly a warm and welcoming place in the heart of the city.
