Hello, and welcome to our Weddings and Unions page – we are happy to help you explore the many options available to celebrate your union at First Parish Church. 

We are a Unitarian Universalist congregation and we support unions of people of all faiths and walks of life. We encourage you to make this ceremony exactly the way the two of you want it to be.

One of our officiants will be happy to help you create your ceremony, or you may have someone else preside over it for you.  All who are recognized by the State of Maine as qualified to perform weddings are welcome here.

In addition, our Music Director will be delighted to work with you in planning the musical elements or your ceremony – but again, outside musicians are welcome, too.

Our main facility – the Meeting House, holds up to 700 people, and is historically and architecturally one of the gems of our city.  The Parish House next door is a delightful alternative for more intimate ceremonies and holds about 100 people.  If an outside garden event is what you envision, we have a beautiful garden on the other side of the Meeting House for a peaceful ceremony setting.
